Our Democratic Mission

At NASGB, we believe in the power of democracy in shaping the educational journey of every learner. We proudly exercise our democratic right to engage with government bodies, educators, and communities, striving to create an inclusive and equitable education system. We emerged in the era of post-apartheid South Africa, contributing to the transformation of education and the empowerment of School Governing Bodies (SGBs) as agents of positive change.

Partnerships for Educational Excellence

In line with our commitment to continuous improvement, NASGB has forged strategic partnerships with Leaders Without Borders, Pro Media Mogul, and The Global Educators Foundation. These partnerships bring invaluable resources, including team-building programs, professional development initiatives, website design and hosting services, and coaching programs for educators. The aim is to enhance leadership skills, improve educational standards, and foster a culture of excellence in schools under our umbrella.

A Call for Progressive Policies

NASGB advocates for progressive taxation policies to fund education adequately. We emphasize the importance of fair resource allocation, infrastructure development, and inclusivity in education. Our vision includes a system where every school receives a minimum resource allocation, with a focus on critical aspects such as infrastructure, teacher qualifications, democratic governance, and learning resources.
